Camera
Here is a picture of my SLR camera with two of my lenses. This camera was a birthday present for my 16th birthday from my mother when I told her I want to go into photography. I love my mother because she is very supportive of what I do. In year 10 I decided because I'm not of legal age to get a job I would find ways to make my own money. First I started by ordering things like popular watches or belts on the internet then i would add maybe 20 pound's or more onto it and sell it on in order to make a profit. I later got tired of it because sometimes when I ordered something I would wait up to a month for my customers to come and collect they're item. With the money I got from this I bought myself a small fujifilm and decided I would start taking pictures. People saw my pictures and liked them and started asking me to take pictures for them. I asked my mother if she would help buy a SLR and she did for 16th. In year 11 i started taking pictures at partys and small events and even started recording videos later on. I have always been interested in media and videos and still photography and I hope to get into that sort of field in the future.
Some Signs Of Spring
Finally i woke up this Sunday morning to find some sun, as we had been seeing some unexpected weather for spring. I was very happy to see this weather that I decided I would celebrate by wearing a dress to church. When returning from church i was looking out of my balcony window and I decided I liked the way the sun was shining onto the houses opposite my own so I would take a picture. I took a picture of this to show summer is coming. This means fun and sun when college is done and as per usual I am very excited about it.
Creams
My and two good friends of mine decided to treat ourselves and go to creams. I took a picture to show my usual order and my friends orders in the background. I bought myself the strawberry delight, which is a waffle covered in strawberry's and strawberry sauce and some ice-cream. I like to treat myself occasionally especially when I feel like I have worked hard and deserve it. I'm not usually a desert person but I do like to go out to eat once in while just because I'm catching up with my friends or loved ones.
SFX
Here is a picture of my ID card. I have been a student at SFX since September 2012. I attended primary school and secondary school in my area so to move to clapham was a big step for me, but I was happy because I felt like I was growing up and becoming more independent. I don't really like my ID picture so i focused the lens more on the college name and my name. I took a picture of this because obviously when I am representing myself I am also representing the college I attend, so I decided it would be a good idea to show my ID pass.
Braids
Here is a picture of my current hairstyle. These are called braids or single plaits. This hairstyle is mostly done by African or Carribean people. Braids are one of my well known hairstyles since primary school. I love the hairstyle weather big braids or small braids. This time i decided to add the color burgundy. This has become one of my favorite colors I now own a lot of burgundy clothing and even matching converses. I took a picture of my braids as I am known for having different styles of braids. Of-course these braids were done by one and only mother.
Pay Day
Pay days first purchase. I did quite a lot of overtime this past month so when pay day came i got a good amount so I decided to treat myself. Majority of my friends have done shisha before and I wanted to try it so i decided to buy a Hookah. While trying it I decided to take a picture. I thought it tasted very nice and it was a nice investment. I also felt good to be trying something from a different culture.
Harris Academy Merton
I decided to take a trip to my secondary school and take a picture of it. From year 7 to year 11 I attended Harris Academy Merton located In pollards hill. My secondary school is 3 bus stops from my house. I have a lot of memories from my secondary school both good and bad, I wont even lie I miss attending school sometimes even though I like the independence at college. Secondary school is probably where I changed most. When I started secondary school I was very quiet, with no confidence and too myself. Throughout secondary school i learned to accept myself, I also grew some confidence and became more comfortable.

Hairdresser
Baby Priscilla
This is a baby picture of me when I had just come from Ghana, (I wasn't born in the UK). In this image I was about 6/7 months old. From a young age I always had a lot of hair, not to mention the fact i was a chubby baby. I think I looked more like my dad when I was younger but as I've grown I look more like my dad. I found this picture displayed inside the sitting room cabinet and decided to take a picture of it to add to my blog. I thought a baby picture would be a good way to show how I have changed but also in a way how I haven't. I'm always told my face never changes, and how I look exactly how I did when I was a baby.
Ghana Independence Day
Ghana independence day (6th March) happened to fall on a Wednesday of this year. On this day I decided I was going to represent my country to the fullest as it the 56th year of independence and as a Ghanaian I wanted to let everybody known that I am very proud of my image. I wore a Ghana flag around me to college, traditional cloth around my head and a customized t shirt translated in Twi saying "Ye Fr3 Mi Afua", which means they call me Afua. I had an induction on this day for my Primark job but I still dressed up in my Ghanaian gear to show of my country and changed in croydon to go to my interview. I uploaded this because I wanted to show how proud I am to be Ghanaian.
Mixing
In my spare time I make mix's. This is one of many things I can do. I like to think of myself as a mini DJ. I started of mixing because I use to burn Ghanaian songs on CD's for my dad and I wanted the songs to flow into one another. As i carried on using the mixer I would play with it in my spare time and try out new things on it such as different effects and filters. As time went my mixing just seemed to get better that I even started making mixes to listen to on my phone and play when I am at home. I enjoy mixing because I enjoying listening to music.
Real Hair
In this picture I am just showing my hair. This is my real hair and my hair is one feature of me that I am known for. People are always shocked when they look at my hair to find out it is my real hair. This is because African and Carribean people don't usually have long hair and I am fully Ghanaian so it is a shock to them. Throughout my 17 years of life my mother has been my hairdresser and is the reason why my hair is so long. Even though my mother has long hair, her hair isn't as long as mine. I'm like an exhibition of my mothers work to her customers.
Trainers vs Heels
When I was younger I was a bit of a tomboy, I wasn't really into the color pink, dresses or skirts. As I grew up I started realize maybe dresses and skirts aren't that bad. To my surprise the color pink even became one of my favorite colors. I took a picture with one foot in heels and one foot in trainers to show that, even though I'm not really a tomboy anymore I still love my trainers and wear trainers casually to college and maybe out or when I'm going out, to say Croydon, at the same time I love my heels and make sure I look nice when I am going out to dinner with my friends or to a party.
Year Book
While looking throwing away my old stuff i came across this book I made in year 11. This was supposed to be a year book because our school didn't do yearbooks at the time. This image is the front cover of my year book with old pictures of me from year 7-11. I thought it was funny to see how much I had grown. While looking through the book and looking at some hairstyles I found myself to be asking "what was I thinking?". I took a picture of this because these are old pictures of me which show what I've looked like throughout the years and I decided it represented me and how I've changed.
Chinese
We came home from church on a Sunday and my mum said we could order Chinese as a treat, so i decided to take a picture. I enjoy eating oriental food for a change from Ghanian dishes all the time. This picture is of the shop I order from. I'm very lazy and try to avoid leaving my house when I can so i always order it my house and pay for the delivery, my mum tells me I waste money, while typing this i realised why.
Sunday Meal
In this image there is soup being heated on the stove and next to the soup my mother is making the Fufu. Fufu is a Ghanaian dish eaten by mostly all Ghanaian The soup that is being heated up is called Light Soup, this soup also has meat in it as in served on top of the Fufu. Every Sunday in my house instead of the traditional Sunday Roast eaten in other peoples houses, my mother makes Fufu. I took a picture of this my usual Sunday meal. Even though I don't really like Fufu, I try to eat it, just to sit around the table with my family and share some jokes. Occasionally we will have something different to eat on a Sunday, like the odd Sunday roast just to switch it up a little, but Fufu on a Sunday in my house is a tradition
Ironing
I have regular chorus when I am at home, this can be; hovering, cleaning the bathroom, washing dishes and tidying the kitchen or ironing. On this occasion I was ironing so I decided to take a picture. In this image you can see the iron on top of the iron board and the ironed clothes in the basket. The reason I took this image is because I wanted to show some of the home training I receive I think chorus are important and should be implemented from a young age to get you in practice, so you will be able to look after you're own home when you are older. Although I find chorus annoying at times, I am happy that my mother makes me do them, because I know it will benefit me in the future
Ghana Music
This is a picture of my speakers plugged into my iPhone. There is a picture of a Ghana flag on my iPhone because I was listening to a Highlife mix. Highlife is a genre of music in Ghana, it is basically r&b but in Twi or any other Ghanaian language. I like too listen to this music because it is slow and relaxing, especially when I am doing work or chorus as it puts me in a good mood, sometimes it may even slightly motivate me. I love Ghanaian music, the beats and rhythms of it, the lyrics and everything about it. Most of the time its all i listen too, weather I am playing it from my phone or listening to CD's or from my computer.
Snow In March
While ironing i heard my younger siblings shout out "Its snowing". I decided to take a picture as this was very unusual as we are supposed to be in the spring season, and you would expect to see sun rather than snow. Then again this country has unpredictable and unreliable weather in comparison to Ghana which is always hot, then we have the rain season as well called 'Hamatan' and even when it does rain it will gush down for a good 20-30minutes then stop.
Jellof Rice
Here is one of my favorite Ghanaian dishes. This is jellof rice with pasta salad (pasta, tuna and mayonnaise) and kebab on a stick. This food is always served at Ghanaian party's funerals/bbq's and get together I was really excited to be having this meal, even though I eat jellof rice on a regular basis its not every day my mum makes kebab and pasta salad. Then to top it off I was told to go get a bottle of super malt as well. As you can imagine i was very much over the moon. I love home cooked food above all food, especially my mums cooking. My mother hates when i buy food and bring it home but once in a while we order food as a family, but she prefers us to eat home food. My family is rather 'traditional' but with some modern apsects.
ICT Book
This is a picture of my ICT book. When I started this subject I thought I could through this subject easily without very much effort because I thought I fully understood it. This book was neglected for many months until my A Level results came and to my surprise I had failed. When I received my results I had a wake up call that i need to give more attention to this subject than I had thought, since then this book has become my good friend. In my spare time I pick it up and read it to refresh my memory and make sure I understand what I am learning, to make sure I can get that B grade I need to take me to university.
Favourite Cereal
This is a picture of my favorite cereal. I can this eat this cereal for breakfast lunch or dinner sometimes even as a snack. I never ever by food for the house unless I'm treating everyone to chinese or something like that, but if the curiously cinnamon is finished and my mother has not been shopping I will leave my house just to go sainsburys or tesco to buy some. There is no other cereal I would use my own money to buy. I don't know what it is with me and this cereal but I love it. My mother is the reason I became addicted to this cereal, when i was younger my mother didn't really eat cereal but when she did this was the cereal she ate, I had never tasted it but I had made up my mind that I did not like it, until one day i decided i would try it and to my surprise I loved it.
Nandos
This was my meal when I went to nandos for my birthday in December This is half a chicken with spicy rice and garlic bread. This is my usual whenever I visit nandos, and I have never changed it since I started going to nandos, the reason for this is because I don't really like trying new things in case I don't like it because I hate wasting money. You would think I would get tired of it but because I don't visit nandos regularly i actually enjoy it. I really love garlic bread. I remember I was introduced to garlic bread by my father in primary school and ever since I just cant get enough, my mother hates when i put garlic bread into the oven because the smell spreads around the house (which she hates), so whenever I am out and I have the opportunity to buy garlic bread I do.

Mothers Day
This is a picture of me and my mum, I was about 8 or 9 months in this picture so not to long after me and mum had come from Ghana. I decided to take a picture of me and my mum because of mothers day. My mother means the world too me, I am very thankful to have such a kind and caring mother like her, she is inspirational and I watch her work very hard to feed and support me and my two siblings I know how much my mother suffers for us and because of this I work hard so one day I will be able to pay her back for all she day and give her everything she deserves.
Church
This is a picture of my church. My mother got us into the habit of attending church every Sunday. Even though now it isn't by force to go to church, it's become a routine so I never miss church unless its for something important which is very rare but I enjoy attending church. I feel my religion is a big part of me which is why I took a picture of this.
Pollards Hill
This is the name of my block. I was born in Ghana and came here when i was 4 months old and I grown up on this block since I came from Ghana. I have a lot of good memories on this block, like in summer when my block will have lots of children on it, I use to play outside from morning until the night, when my mother will shout of the window for me to come inside. My block is full of very friendly people and there are also quite a few Ghanaians, which overtime have become very good friends of my family.
This is a picture of my block from one of the entrances. As you can see I live in terrace house and I have lived here all my life. In primary school i was told a lot that i lived in a council house because all the houses look a like and it use to annoy me, but this is not true the house was bought about 20 years ago in my fathers name. Although living in this house does annoy me at times, because if somebody is having a party a few doors down I do not sleep that night until the very early hours of the morning, but I still love my area and wouldn't want to move anywhere else.
Pollards Hill is called Pollards Hill because of the old abandoned hill behind my house. This picture was taken from the top of the hill, you can only see a few blocks like Kent Close, Lindsey Close, Glamorgan Close and others but there are a lot more that i could not capture with this lens. Sometimes when i want to get out of the house to think, I will go for a walk around my area, I like climbing up the old hill and sitting there by myself. Its peaceful and its rare to bump into somebody there. I like watching the view and feeling the breeze and just getting some time to myself to think or even relax. I have a lot of memories on this hill, I remember on the last day of year 11 me and the majority of my year came to the old hill, this was the last time we were all together as a year group, nobody wanted to leave but we had to go home because we had an english exam the next day. I like to reminisce good memories from the past and
This is a picture of the Pollards Hill library. This place became a friend of mine in december 2012 to revise for my a levels. This was a shock to my parents and friends because I have always hated the library and whenever they tried to force me to go the library i wouldn't go or I wouldn't be able to revise. I recently found out that it isn't that bad when i revise in there with my headphones. Too my surprise I found out I revise a lot better inside there than at home.
Easter Eggs
Even though I am 17 years old, I still get excited when I receive Easter eggs. I'm not really a fan of chocolate and have never been all that into chocolate but I still enjoy receiving Easter eggs and eating them on the Easter Sunday. When I got the eggs i was reminded of when i was younger and use to sneakingly open the Easter egg box and nibble some chocolate, because I couldn't wait until the Easter Sunday. I think the reason why I'm still happy to receive Easter eggs is because I do not want to grow up.
MillScilla
This teddy bear is called MillScilla. This was a birthday present bought for me five years ago from my best friend Milinda. The name MillScilla comes from both our names put together. I took a picture of this teddy bear because I cherish this teddy very much, I am not a very big fan of teddy bears but because my best friend bought it for me I cherish it a lot. I met my best friend in secondary school and we are closer than ever, I love this girl like a sister she is a big part of my life and I thank her for her guidance and knowledge she gives to me everyday.
Salon
On the third floor of my house there is room which my mother does hair, during the day she carries out her role as a hairdresser. If I am in the house and my mother needs help i will go upstairs and help out, through helping my mother out I can also do hair, obviously i cant do hair as well as my mother because she has been doing hair for about 20years. My mother has been doing my hair since I was born and does not allow anybody else to touch my hair. I feel that because my mother is hairdresser and knows so much about hair she is very over protective of my hair, even though this can sometimes be annoying it is a good thing, because i never have any problems like hair breakage or weak hair. I also save money on getting my hair done as all i need to braid my hair or the perming cream to perm it.
Academic Achievement
This is an award I received from my Secondary school Harris Academy Merton, in my last year at the school. Our motto of the school was, achievement is success and with this award I believe that it drew me closer to achieving my success. I have always enjoyed receiving awards as I like for my efforts to be recognised, even though you work hard for yourself as you will benefit in the future, I feel it is nice to have the odd pat on the back as it encourages you to work hard and also tells you, that you are doing well. I received this award for 'Most Improved'. The reason I received this award was because I missed most of year 9, as a result of this I was behind in year 10 and was moved to lower sets as I had not sat any exams, through year 10 I slowly caught up and proved my teachers wrong and in year 11 I moved back up.
African Movies
This is a small collections of the households movies. As you can see they are mainly Nigerian and Ghanaian f, I watch most of these movies with my Mother as my Father thinks they are useless. Many of these movies are based on true stories or are funny. I enjoy watching the Ghanaian movies especially because I find it interesting to see what they go through back in Ghana. Although the movies are for enteratinment I think they teach you aswell, because there are usually morals to the stories and they also show that there are consequences to the choices you make in life, I also hear the odd word In Twi (Ghanaian Language), which I would have never heard before or do not know the meaning, I then ask my mum and she explains to me.
First Pay Check
African Print
My mother told me to pick an African print which I would like to make a dress with so I decided to take a picture of it. I took a picture of this because even though I do not live in Ghana I still follow traditions and I feel this is an important part of me. This cloth is going to be used to make a traditional cloth for a special occasion but I will pick a modern design. I think its important to reinforce traditions and pass them down, so you don't loose them and always remember where you came from. This picture has not been edited as I thought it looked fine as it is. I took from a high angle to show the different colours and types of cloth which were available.

Perming Cream
Here is a picture of my perming cream. My mother has been perming my cream with this brand for six's years now and I have never had a problem with it, such as hair breakage or thin hair.
Social Networking
Here is a picture of my phones with two well known social networking sites on the screens. The two social networking sites displayed are twitter and instagram. I am on these social networking sites everyday. I took a picture of this because i wanted to show how technology has progressed, I also wanted to show that social networking is slowly taking over and is now apart of our lives, weather we agree with it or not.

J20
This is a picture of an empty bottle of J20 which i drank after a sunday, this is one my favourite drinks. I decided to take a picture of this because I look at J20 as a privilege in comparison to many children in Africa which is my heritage. The colour of this picture is bright this sets a happy mood, the reason for this is because I'm thankful for the fact I live in UK.

Ghanaian Bible
Here is a picture of a Holy Bible in Twi which is a language of Ghana. I took the picture from a low angle so, the light is shinning upon the bible from the window and I am looking up at the bible and the picture of Jesus. I placed the bible in that position and took it from that angle because I wanted to show how I see my christianity, like most christians i see Jesus and God as the most high and I take my religion very seriously and attend church service sundays and friday regularly.
Gloomy Sunday Morning
This was the view out of my window on a gloomy sunday morning. This represents the unpredictable british weather which I have to no choice but deal with, because this is the country I live in. The colour of the picture is dull which represents the dull and depressing weather and mood it put's you in when you wake up too see this, especially when you're due to go church in a hour or and so and will have to walk through this.
Bus 50
Here is a picture of the stop button on the bus 50. I was sitting on the top deck and the bus was empty so i decided to take a picture of it. This represents the public transport of London which I use everyday, which annoys me all the time. I changed the settings on my camera to make the colour look dull, this represents my mood when I am on public transport.
Supermalt
Here is a picture of supermalt which is an energy drink. I consider this drink as a traditional drink and as part of the african culture, as whenever i go to a Ghanaian/African party or celebration, there is always supermalt available. I assembled the drink in that way as i thought it would be a good angle to display the drink but to also show how many there are. There were 5 drinks fro each member of family that were present in the house, my mother was in a good mood as it was praise and worship sunday at church on that day and my auntie had come to visit, so my mother put supermalt in the fridge for us to drink after our sunday meal.
